What Causes Clear Vaginal Discharge And Reduced HCG Level During Pregnancy?

I have clear watery discharge and I m early 5 weeks pregnant. My last appointment I had dropped 300 points on my hcg level.. Doctor suspected either miscarriage or vanishing twin. I m having all of the same normal symptoms as before. Can you tell me anything?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. Clear watery discharge can happen during early pregnancy, at the time of ovulation and also just before the onset of a menstrual period. This is because of the high hormone levels. Yet, the decline in the hCG titres is of concern. I agree with your consultant that this fall can be due either to a missed pregnancy or a vanishing twin. I suggest a trans-vaginal sonogram along with serial serum beta-hCG titres for follow up. Doubling titres every 2-3 days indicate good progress. Meanwhile, please abstain from all stressful activity, take bed rest and have adequate liquids. Hope your query has been clarified. Wish you good health.
