What Causes Cluster Of Brownish Yellow Spots On Child's Scalp?
I just noticed that my healthy 9-yr old boy has a cluster of borwnish yellow spots just inside the hairline of his scalp. I had to take him to school this morning so I couldn't spend time seeing how extensive it is on the rest of his scalp. It shocked me and is a bit concerning. He has a medium/olive skin complexion. I'm thinking I may need to take him to the pediatrician....Any ideas?
Your son is most probably suffer from seborrheic dermatitis. There may be greasy brownish yellow crusted lesions on the scalp in the form of dandruff. There may be mild to severe itching. There may be oozing also.He might feel uncomfortable. Secondary bacterial infection may follow. You consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis and perfect treatment. If I were his doctor, I would have given a course of antibiotics, steroids, antifungal and antihistaminics according to the disease severity. Combined lotion of steroid with antifungal may be advised to apply. Ketoconazole containing shampoo may be used to cleanse the scalp. After few days treatment he might be alright. I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.
