What Causes Cold Followed By Dizziness, Weakness And Blurred Vision?

I have recently had a bad cold that lasted 2 weeks, a further 2 weeks down the line I am not back to normal. for that last few days i have been feeling dizzy, weak, had blurred vision and I feel queasy. I have been eating well. When I had my cold just started cutting sugar out of my diet completely when i used to have 2 sppons in my coffee about 10 times a day! I replaced it with sweetner that contains aspartame and I read this might have side effects. I have switched back to the sugar 2 days ago and don t feel any better. Any ideas?

Hi,

4 weeks is a long time to have bad cold that has not got cured on its own or with medicines. Having dizziness, weakness and blurred vision in addition indicates that there are possible complications of the respiratory tract infection causing constitutional symptoms.

Consult your Primary Doctor for clinical examination, investigations of blood and any others as needed and get you started on an appropriate antibiotic, symptomatic and supportive medications. Instill decongestant nasal drops like Otrivin and have steam inhalation. This will relieve local congestion. Long standing symptoms need to rule out diseases like typhoid or so. Take multivitamins with mineral, and trace elements. Stop any thing that enhance your symptoms or aggravate them. Take rest, avoid crowds.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
