I have about 4 dark purple-like spots on the roof of my mouth. They are sore and hurt when my tongue touches them. They also look flat. I had a friend who use to be a dentist look at it and he said it is a burn from eating boiling hot vegetables. I did indeed eat VERY hot vegetables several times to the point that it burned. I have a small cold sore on my upper lip as well. It came about the same time as the purple sores on the roof of my mouth. I have gotten three cold sores in 6 months. Can the cold sore be caused by an injury (burn) to the roof of my mouth? I had a cold sore on June 25 and then again on July 9.
