What Causes Cold Sores On The Tongue And The Throat?

I am a 55 year old female. My tongue has been feeling like it is on fire on and off for the past several weeks, and now I have red raised bumps toward the back of my tongue that are very very sore. My throat is also very very sore and has been for several weeks on and off. Could I have cold sores on my tongue and in my throat?

Welcome to health care magic forum,

As your symptoms indicate glositis. Glositis may be due to vitamin deficiency or gasrtroesophageal refulx or gerd .

what you have seen bumps on posterior part of tongue these are usually taste buds so avoid see your tounge regularly.

I sugest to take plenty of water , and course of antireflux drugs and multivitamin for 10 days.Avoid spicy foods.

if no relief than see an ent specialist for examination of tongue and throat.

thanks.
