What Causes Constant Bowel Movement Sensation After Anal Intercourse?
I recently had intercourse with my partner and there was an incident where his penis accidentally went into my behind. Initially there was severe pain and we stopped immediately, when I went to the washroom to clean up and check I noticed blood on the tissue paper. This was a few hours ago and while the bleeding has relatively stopped I'm still feeling mild discomfort and the constant sensation that I need to move my bowels. Should this be cause for concern?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. Anal sex causes injury/ inflammation/ irritation of rectal mucosa- this causes bleeding & feeling of constant wish of deification. Keeping good anal hygiene, avoiding hard stools,( taking high fiber, high water intake with non spicy food.), taking schitz bath, taking anti inflammatory medicine available over the counter would heal the condition & relieve the problem. In case of no relief in a weeks time/ purulent discharge/ excessive bleeding or pain..., consultation of ano rectal surgeon is advised. Thanks.
