Hello,
Since you have a history of
smoking the symptoms from which you are suffering presently are of chronic
bronchitis. Though other medical conditions like COPD, Asthma &
pneumonia, etc can also present with similar symptoms.
You are suggested to get clinically examined & have pulmonary function tests, CT, chest X-Ray & blood tests done.
You may need bronchodilators, deriphylline, mucolytics(bromohexine), antivirals, anti-inflammatory &
oxygen therapy, etc.
Get treated at the earliest. Mucus in the lungs is commonly due to excessive smoking, lung damage, pollution, dust, smoke,
allergy, etc.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
