Hi..my partner has some chest pain which is getting slightly worse. It started today and although we are trying to link it to anxiety due to large amounts of stress recently, we are concerned that we may need to think differently. Can you advise as to the best course of action please. The pain is in the centre of the chest, between her breasts. It was intermitant for the first part of the day and now it's constant. f she breathes in or stands up, it seems to get worse. Can you adivse as to the best course of action please
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Yes, you are right. Stress and anxiety can cause similar kind of chest pain. But better to first rule out heart diseases. So get done ecg, 2d echo and stress test. If all these are normal then no need to worry for heart diseases. Consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in her life and start working on its solution. She may need anxiolytic drugs too. Don't worry, she will be alright with all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your girlfriend. Thanks.
