What Causes Constant Sharp Pain In Chest For Few Seconds?

im 17 years old. for years i have had a sharp pain in my right chest, like a stap . theyll last 5 mins 5 secs each and 30 secs or so apart. I had VSD when i was born but it closed up without the need of surgery. its just now getting more constant and is effecting my sleep.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
Since you had operated VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect), we need to rule out cardiac cause first for your chest pain.
So get done ECG and 2D Echo to rule out this.
If both are normal than no need to worry for cardiac cause.
It may be muscular pain mostly.
So trt to follow these steps for better symptomatic relief in muscular pain.
1. Avoid heavy weight lifting and strenuous exercise.
2. Avoid bad postures in sleep.
3. Take good painkiller and muscle relaxant.
4. Apply warm water pad on affected site.
