Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Constant Shocks In My Wrist After I Gave Blood?
I was giving blood samples for a physical last week, when the needle went in it produced a constant shock feeling in my wrist. Since then I get jolts in that wrist occasionally when I work as a mechanic. It s been over a week and it seems to be getting worse.
This is common due to the puncture with the needle there is a normal tendency of the body to produce inflammation at the soft tissue level. Due to which there will be small muscle weakness. As it was below elbow and you are a mechanic the muscle use will be more in that area. You should use wrist brace and strengthen the muscles of the forearm. You should be helped and all symptoms should subside in 2-3 weeks of time.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
