Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have constant stomach bloating. Have difficulty passing out gas. Sometimes very excessive gas. I was diagnosed with Hiatal hernia and GERD. Although I dont feel heartburn. But gets aggravated after spicy food and fizzy drinks. Imused to take nuxium before but now taking Zantac and Protium. The problem is that it comes back after a while and it seems like a never ending story. What could it be and am I taking the right medication?
Hello I share your concern You are taking right medicines, you need not to worry much In my opinion nexium is better than zantac
Apart from medicines I would advise you following life style and dietary modifications Don't lie down immediately after food Have small and frequent meals Have lots of fresh fruits and vegetables Avoid fatty fried spicy and junk food or carbonated drinks Complete abstinence of alcohol and smoking Try to reduce body weight if you are overweight or obese.
Hope this helps you Please feel free to ask for more clarification, I will be happy to help you wish you good health
