What Causes Constant Thick Mucous Discharge From Vagina?
i have a constant thick, mucous like vaginal discharge. It is odorless and varies from a clear to yellowish/green color. The consistnecy is somewhat stringy and sticky but sort of gooey. I have been tested numerous times for std's but everything is clear. I have had the same partner for 2 years and it started happening a couple of months after giving birth to my daughter...18 months ago. I have tried diflucan and OTC yeast products but nothing works. Its ruining my sex life... any ideas?
Discharge due to yeast or trichomonal infestations would have caused a lot of itching around the vagina.
Mucous vaginal discharge is a normal discharge for any woman. From day 1 of the menses it goes on increasing and becomes maximum on the day of egg release (14 days prior to next menses). Then after that it becomes thickish and goes on diminishing in amount till the menses.
If you do not have any symptom like itching, burning of vagina, painful intercourse due to this discharge, you may ignore it. However, if you get any symptom, please report to the Gynaecologist to get it diagnosed and treated.
I hope this helps you.
