What Causes Constant Upper Back Pain After Having Medical Abortion Pill?
I had a medical abortion (pill) three days ago. Today i woke up with severe upper back pain (right between my shoulder blades). I couldn t sleep anymore because it hurts no matter what i do. It is constant so even if I dont bend over or move it still hurts. I haven t over exerted myself recently, it seems i just woke up this way. Anyway, Im curious as to what it may be?
Hi, thanks for the query. Your upper back pain is no way related to your abortion pill. The causes could be very diverse like muscle spasm, issues related to spine of neck and upper back region, or rarely even could be due to bad gastritis ( excess acidity in stomach ). It is very difficult to pinpoint exactly the cause without having examined you. But as a first step you may try tab. Pantoprazole 40 mg once daily half an hour before food for a week to see if it gives any relief. Avoid pain killers ( NSAIDS) as it worsens gastritis. Eat small frequent meals through the day. Avoid spicy and oily food, as much as you could. Do consume lot of fruits, veggies and have plenty of water. If the above measures don't help you, you will need to see your physician to assess the cause of your pain. Hope this helps. Take care.
