What Causes Constipation And Lump On Colon Can Be Cancerous?
I am a 39 yr old female since I was in my eary 20's I always had a frequent bowel patten i.e: once or twice a day never hard and not diaharea. Some times it was a nuisance as I was always gassy and regular. Two years ago after I had my daughter via a Csection my bowel movement became less frequent. still at least once a day but more laboured. About 3 month ago I experience constipation problems for about two weeks. It regulated itself but now a week ago I got started to "cold sweat" and felt light headed and about 1 hour later I had flushing bowel movement. After this over the next couple of days I noticed my bowel movement was sort of firm and now a few day ago my family doctor said she felt a lump on groin area on my colon. She has given me "benefiber' to use for the week and I am to come back for her to feel the area again. Does this necessarily me I should be worried about cancer?
I am overweight, I have mild scoliosis and a pinced nerve in my neck and sciatica in my lower back.
Noted the history well and understood the concerns. Since you have bowel problems for a long time it is necessary to know the exact cause. Your Doctor has felt a lump in abdomen that can be due to fecoliths and may get relieved by Benefiber. If it does not help then surely you need further evaluation. Please ask for the following: X-ray of abdomen in standing position. This may show any obstruction, fecoliths. CT Scan of abdomen after preparation Colonoscopy and biopsy to confirm the cause. Tests of stool. Tests of blood: routine and for tumor markers. All these will lead to a proper diagnosis and get you treated accordingly.
Take care.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
