What Causes Constipation ,nausea And Abdominal Cramps During 28 Weeks Of Pregnancy?
I am currently 28 weeks pregnant and 4 days ago felt nausious and stomach cramps. Realised I was constipated and over the last few days have tried movicol, coloxyl and now microlax enema (on doctors advice). I have used the enema twice in last 2 days as it helped me to have a bowel movement but still having bad cramps and cant go by myself. I am drinking plenty of water and my diet is good. What is the next step. What do I do now? The cramping is so bad I have had 4 days off work and cannot do anything but cry!

Hi, I understand your concern. Your problem of nausea, constipation & abdominal cramps can be - - Due to wrong food consumption- Due to pregnancy hormones intestinal movements & digestion gets hampered in pregnancy. This results in food being left in bowels for longer time. water in it gets absorbed leading to constipation.indigestion/ bloating & cramping of abdomen , Management consists of small & frequent eating , plenty of water drinking( 12 glasses in 24 hours)., Plenty of fibers in diet (salads, fruits, etc)/ daily walking, yoga exercises - It is worth excluding infection by strool examination & get specific treatment. Thanks.
