What Causes Constipation, Stomach Upsets, Diarrhea And Unusual Stool?

My 5 month old son has been battling consitpation for a couple weeks now. We have seen the DR for it. Then earlier last week he developed a stomach bug, throwing up for 2 days and diarrhea. He has been having diarrhea for the past 4 days or so, maybe once or twice a day or he ll skip a day. Then he had a blowout diaper this morning and there were little red fibers in his poop. He pooped again just now and there were more little fiber looking things in it. What is this?

Hi.... by what you say I feel that your kid is having acute dysentery(blood streaked stools), which could be bacterial. This might warrant an antibiotic therapy. I suggest you get back to your pediatrician as antibiotics are prescription drugs.
