What Causes Constipation With A Swelling In The Belly?

I have had a weird feeling on the right side of my belly button and it feels like a bad bruise and that someone has hit me hard in the belly. I had an ultrasound about a month ago and the doctor said that everything looks OK. It has continually got worse and I am now experiencing a little bit of heartburn and it is becoming increasingly uncomfortable to wear clothes that rub against my tummy. It does not get worse when I eat or I don t eat, it is just there all the time. Hurts to lay on that side. When I shower, even the water hurts when it touches. The pain is just to the right and a little below the belly button. I do have some constipation and it looks like the right side of my belly is swollen and larger than the left size.

Hello,

Are you female or male? Right side belly enlargement may be due to unilateral inguinal hernia, right colon pathology, cholecystitis, appendicitis or hepatomegaly etc.

It is also possible with irritable bowel syndrome, food intolerance or malabsorption syndromes.

Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Use tablet Rifaximin twice a day for five days. After that use tablet Sporlac twice a day for five days.

If symptoms do not improve, please consult your gastroenterologist, he will do colonoscopy and endoscopy then treat you accordingly.
