What Causes Constipation With Vomiting During A Pregnancy?

I am in my last month of pregnancy. Today, I am suddenly painfully constipated and I have vomited once. I also feel a bit chilled. I haven't had any problems with constipation before this in this pregnancy. This is my fifth baby, so I know what labour usually feels like. What do you think is going on?

I have gone through your query and understood the concern. Painful constipation usually occurs with either obstructed hemorrhoids and/or a fissure. Also, if the presenting part has descended well into the pelvis, this can add to the discomfort. In the current scenario, you need to have a local examination performed by a surgeon to clarify the situation and plan further management. Stool softeners may be used, local applications may be given to facilitate easy passage of the stool and sitz baths may be tried with caution not to rupture membranes. Hope this helps.
