Hi - I have been asked to take regestrone for about 15 days as I have been having continuous vaginal bleeding. I also have a ventricular tacycardia problem. The last time I had this problem I was put on primolut and it lead to breathlessness and pain in my left hand and had to abruptly stop that medication. Post this I went thru a DNC. after 4 months the issue of continuous bleeding has started again and this time I am on regestrone. I have started experiencing mild pain in my left arm and I am relating this to the medication again,....can you please tell me whether regestrone causes any of the symptoms/side effects that I have mentioned above
Regesterone can rarely cause allergic reactions in the form rashes, breathlessness or shortness of breath. In case of such reactions, it is generally advised to avoid using the drug again in order to avoid hypersensitivity reactions. Pelvic scan should be taken to identify any uterine or ovarian cause of bleeding. Combined oral contraceptive should be used to reduce the bleeding.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
