I got the contraceptive implant (nexplanon) put in in January 2014, and its now almost August and in the past month or so its been quite sore. It comes and goes but often I ll feel it. Why is this? When I feel it with my fingers, it s in the same place and doesn t feel broken or snapped
Soreness and numbness, which can happen at the site of the implant and it is due to mild inflammation at the implant site. Generally, it will settle on its own without any treatment.
If there is any redness or signs of infection, consult your gynecologist and be evaluated, you may need antibiotics in that case. If the implant is misplaced or broken, it needs to be removed and reinserted.
