What Causes Cough And Throat Itchiness While On Lisinopril?

i recently saw a new doctor who immediately switched my blood pressure medication from atenolol to lisiniprol. I have been experienced a cough and tickling of the throat. I don t know whether to attribute this to the new medication or to sinus and allergies.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor type of medication.

This type or family of medications can cause a dry cough to occur.

If you have a history of allergies causing these symptoms then it may be the cause but if this is not the case, then the medication is more likely and you would need to speak to your doctor about changing it.

I hope this helps
