What Causes Cough, Sore Throat,laryngitis And A Tingling Sensation In The Throat?

I have had a sore throat, laryngitis and a tickle in my throat for 4 months. Terrible cough too! I have had a cat scan and a pet scan. I have been to my regular doctor and an ENT. I am having a bioposy on my vocal cords just to be sure, but the dr didn t see anything on the PET scan. Could I have throat cancer. I am a heavy smoker and have been for many years

Smokers chronic cough may be due to COPD with emphysema or corpulmonale. Pharygitis or repeated exacerbations of asthma or tobacco induced keratitis or Sjogren's syndrome may present like this avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Please consult your pulmonalogist he will do PFT and CT chest, echo then treat you accordingly.
