About 2 years ago I had and still have mucas come out frequently but no pain or burning in my chest; the untibiotics priscribed by the doctor did not heal. Lately, a bit coughin entered the fray so to speak. The strange thing is that most of those symptoms are not that noticeable when I am up and around. So the problem comes around during sleeping hours. I am planing to see a specialist; any advise?.. Thank you.
Since you have been suffering from phlegm with cough only during night, the problem is usually from the nose, sinuses or lower respiratory tract. I would advise you to consult a doctor for clinical evaluation and investigations: * CT scan of nose and sinuses * X-ray of the chest * Tests of blood All these will give the most probable diagnosis to be able to have a specific treatment.
Use decongestant orally and nasally before going to the bed. Do steam inhalation. Cleaning the nose and the lungs before going to the bed will help you. Since the problem is a chronic one you may need a Specialist opinion of an ENT Surgeon and a Pulmonologist as the findings will be and have a definitive treatment for cure and symptom free nights.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
