What Causes Cough With Phlegm With Headache?

42 year old male. Smoker. Non drinker. Occupation psychologist. 4 week hx of severe coughing bringing up light green flem. No temperature. Some headaches especially in the morning and occasional sore ear.Very tired aroiund lunchtime. Extremely heavy head which can be helped by a even a five minute snooze.

Dear sir..you have severe cough with sputum for around 4 weeks that need to investigated as soon as possible and I think this mild headache may be because of this severe cough . As you have mentioned you are chronic smoker this ..In this setting of smoking it is more important to consult your physician and discuss about that.it may be because of chronic bronchitis or bronchiectasis or it may be early manifestation of some thing serious such as lung malignancies . So there is no need to panic but it can't be taken lightly as well..you consult your physician get sputum examination and x ray chest done..In my opinion it's high time you should stop smoking because smoking will aggrevate your problem.hope this will help.
