Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The sound that happens when your infant breathes could be air passing over congested mucus in her nasal passages. Other causes could include:

-flaccidity of structures in the neck near the vocal cords.
-mucous web across the vocal cords.
-narrowing of airway.
- defect in cartilaginous tracheal rings.
- a mass of small blood vessels in the trachea. First, what is causing the sound is determined and then what treatment, if any, can be decided. Somethings will disappear with time and others will require treatment Remember, the doctor who sees her will be able to provide the best advice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
