Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Everytime I bend my knees they crack but there has been no pain up until today . I woke up got up and my knees cracked as usual but this time it hurt . And the rest of the day anytime I bend, it cracks, I feel pain and I just got back from my daily two mile run and now my knee hurts.
I studied your case and this is sign of either cartilage damage or knee arthritis. I would suggest you to show it to orthopaedic surgeon and get a weight bearing x ray. If this x ray shows that there is decrease in joint space and also there is change in the alignment of the knee joint then you will need treatment accordingly. Till you get your x rays done I would recommend you to do following. 1. Static quadriceps exercises 2. Avoid squatting, cross leg sitting and sing stairs. 3. tablet calcium and vitamin D 3 regularly. 4. Brufen if there is any severe pain 5. Voletran ointment
