What Causes Cramping In The Lower Back And Abdomen During Pregnancy?

hi, im 33 weeks pregnant and i keep getting cramping pains in my lower back and tummy, but after finishing work today iv notice when the babys kicking and moving its sending a sharp stabing pain to the lower part of my tummy.. could this be hes getting ready?

Hi,
During fetal movements at this stage of pregnancy, it is common to experience such pain as the vibrations are transmitted down the cervix and on to the vagina, the fetus being bigger in size as compared to the amount of liquor. Also, the lax pubic joints are another reason for the pain. Cramping pains could mean exaggerated Braxton-Hicks' contractions. If these persist, please report to your consultant for further assessment. Please take adequate rest in left lateral position. Wish you safe motherhood.
