What Causes Cramping In Uterus After Taking Misoprostol For Abortion?
Ȋ̝̊̅ was 6weeks pregnant and Ȋ̝̊̅ had an abortion with misoprostol. Ȋ̝̊̅ started bleeding 4hours after Ȋ̝̊̅ took it and the bleeding was much with lots of clots. 9hours after taking the misoprostol the cramps and bleeding has stoped completely. 30hours later Ȋ̝̊̅ had a cramp from the leftside of my uterus down to my left leg but no bleeding at all. Please is this normal? Am worried is it posible the abortion is incomplete?
Hello dear Understand your concern Abdominal cramp after misoprostol is common as it cause uterine contraction that help in expels out womb from the uterus. Slight bleeding and cramps will remain lat for 4-5 days. Take proper rest with elevation of leg by putting pillow below the leg, tablet meftal spas plus ibuprufen, healthy diet with iron supplements. If abdominal pain will remain after 7 days you should consult the gynecologist and need to be investigated for incomplete abortion, ectopic pregnancy, vaginal infection, abnormal continuation of pregnancy by USG scan and per speculum examination. Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
