What Causes Cramps And Brownish Discharge Before The Menstrual Cycle?

I never have cramps with my period. However, I had massive cramps and a brownish dishcarge 3 days before my period actually started. The discharge continued 2 days after my period ended. Its been a week since my last period and I got cramps this entire day. I've been having trouble sleeping and I've lost my appetite. What is wrong with me? What should I do?
