What Causes Cramps And Constipation?

i havent had a bowel movement in 4 days and I'm having severe cramping, and hardening of the stomach. When the cramps come on it feels like your going to have a bowel movement but it hasn't helped. I've drank Milk of magesa and still the cramps are pretty severe. Please let me know what I should do.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern.
Some advices that I can give to you are
-Drink plenty of liquids
-take a diet of fibers
-Don't ignore the urge to go.
-Go to the bathroom at the same time each morning. Make this your morning "habit," as colonic motor activity is highest at this time.
-Try a stool softener, such as Colace, if your stools are very hard.
- Try a rectal glycerin suppository.
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
