What Causes Cramps Around The Ribcage And Low Grade Fever?

Random Cramping type discomfort on left side in rib area. Showed up after a mild intestinal issue about 6 weeks ago almost like I was fighting an intestinal flu but only developed symptoms (random light cramping and very low grade fever for about 24 hours). The cramping sensation is very sporadic and discomfort level on a scale of 1 to 10 is a 1.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If splenic flexure of colon affected means you may get chest pain and discomfort in the rib cage. it may be due to Gastritis or reflux disease or pleuracy or vitamin d deficiency or pneumonia etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. use tablet diclofenac sodium twice a day for five days. if symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
