What Causes Cramps In Ankles, Calf And Feet Soles?

I have been woke up early AM with cramps in feet(Sole). It moved(cramping)to ankle and then to outer calf. Hurt bad and eventually stopped leaving residue feeling for awhile. 1 cramp was in the top muscle on the back of thigh. Escrusiating (sp) pain for a minute or so. Tonight i had a pin feeling in my neck (back of) that hurt for 10 seconds(I think) and left me feeling a little off balance. Not a stroke I believe because I have had one. I have a pain in center of back that hurts but comes and goes. I had brain surgery last february for anyerism but returned to work last july. I have a lot of stress with work....x husband and his alcoholim...courts....hospitals,,,,accidents etc.... can you tell me what the cramps are about and that pin needle feeling that caused the off balance. I seem fine now from that.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I have studied your case.
Muscle cramps can be reduced by
Massaging the cramped muscle with your hands or oil
Drinking plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration
Stretching your leg muscles or riding a stationary cycle.
Taking diet rich in calcium and potassium or oral supplements of the same
Check your vit B12 and Vit D 3 levels.

Till time, avoid lifting weights, You can consult physiotherapist for help.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care.
