What Causes Cramps In Legs?

I have had terrible legs cramps at night. They were usually lower legs and are very painful and last for twenty minutes. Last night I woke from sleep and had leg cramps from my thighs to my feet, both legs. I was unable to stand, the pain was excruciating . I was screaming in pain, I could not bear weight, I could not stand up. I was soaked in sweat. It lasted for about fifteen awful minutes. I am not taking any medications. I have had blood work and electrolytes were Normal. What could this be.

I have studied your case.
Muscle cramps can be reduced by
Massaging the cramped muscle with your hands or oil
Drinking plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration
Stretching your leg muscles or riding a stationary cycle.
Taking diet rich in calcium and potassium or oral supplements of the same
Check your vit B12 and Vit D 3 levels.

Till time, avoid lifting weights, You can consult physiotherapist for help.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief.
