What Causes Cramps Post Frozen Embryo Transfer?

Hi, I am 9 days post frozen transfer. I only transferred one embryo. Grade BB. My concern is for the last few days I have had cramping like my period was going to start and I am having brown discharge when I wipe. I am on the progesterone oil shots and estridol.

Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. It is common to experience some cramping after embryo transfer as implantation occurs. This could also be the reason for the brownish discharge, possibly a collection in the uterus after instrumentation. However, study of serial sonograms should be useful in detecting the success of the procedure. Please take rest in bed, avoid all strenuous activity and get regular monitoring. Serial serum beta-hCG titres, if no external supplementation is given, are also helpful in detecting the progress. Hope this helps.
