What Causes Crusty Ear Discharge After Cleaning My Ear?
I recently had my left ear washed out because it was clogged. Now I am experiencing a runny and crusty substance coming from that ear. I have tried a triple antibiotic ointment for the outer ear and also a touch of baby oil to relieve the crusty residue. Why is this happening and how can I stop this from continuing?b
You may be suffering from Otitis Externa (OE) is an inflammation or infection of the External Auditory Canal (EAC), the auricle, or both. But until examination of your ear is done, it is difficult to say what it is.
It is caused by eczema or fungal infection or swimmers prone, this can be treated through: - Pain management - Removal of debris from the administration of topical medications to control edema and infection - Avoidance of contributing factors
If symptoms not improved, please consult your ENT specialist, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.
