What Causes Crying Of An Infant During Defecation?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...                                                   Our son is 6 and a half weeks old he is bottle fed baby. He strains and cries when he has to pass a stool, the stools are normal looking and he passes stools every 3rd day, the Mid wife and Dr does not look concerned but they have not seen him when he does pass a stool, it is not a normal cry it definitely sounds like a cry of pain and he is unconsoleable in the time it takes him to pass it.

Hi,

Firstly, you need to observe for any fissure (slit) present in his anus, any streak of blood, perianal rash or any flatus. Secondly, you can give glycerin suppository infant for easy passage of stool.
