My father has been diagnosed with a small cyst on lower right side of vocal cord. We have been advised by docs that a micro surgery will have to be done. As this profession has been highly commercialized in India am not very confidented if this surgery is actually needed. Can you please advise? Thanks

Hi,
Any nodule on vocal cord should not be neglected.
This might be giving rise hoarseness of voice.
Any space occupying lesion or cyst or cancer lesion should be ruled out.
Go for surgery and get biopsy done.
If he is having habit of smoking, quit smoking.
Ok and take care.
