I have a history of dry macular degeneration. four months ago I had cataract surgery. Now I am being treated for cme and wet macular degeneration as a precaution. Avistan does not seem to be working. My Dr is thinking of using IVA as our next step. Could the CME be due to a sensitivity to the lens used or meds that I a currently taking
Hello It seems from the history that you are having cystoid macular edema. It is caused by inflammations of the eye like following surgery, or because of diseases like macular degeneration. Hence CME is not caused by medicines that you are currently taking but it can be because of inflammation induced by surgery or by macular degeneration.
Thank you
