What Causes Cysts On The Tongue?

Hi, I had what looked like a cyst where my tongue and the floor of my mouth connect. It went away within 3 days, but then a small ulcer appeared above it. Now it looks like the underside of my tongue is peeling, as I have a lot of skin hanging from it. Is this normal?

Hi! welcome to HCM.
This can be a ranula. You did not mention if the onset of the swelling is gradual or sudden. This is due to a salivary gland duct trauma.
Rupture and Recurrence of a ranula can occur in some patients. You must undergo a removal of the involved gland. This will prevent any recurrence.Regards.
