What Causes Dark Bleeding During Urination After A Colectomy?

I have a j pouch after having a full colectomy 5 years ago. For the first time, I am suddenly bleeding when I urinate. It s dark red blood now.. it was tea colored 2 days ago. I have an appointment with my surgeon in the morning, but I don t know if this is an emergency.
