What Causes Dark Brown Discharge From Vagina After Having Bactrim?
I had a mass under armpit and went to er the doctor gave me bactrim. I was okay until a few days after finishing taking the bactrim i noticed that I had heavy dark brown discharge from my vagina and my was burning and itching. I was tested and cleared cleaned before the bactrim was given to me. I only feel relief when I wear no undergarmets. I have been eating more garlic assuming that I am having a bad reaction to the bactrim or the tramadol that was prescribed to me.

HI, Thanks for the query.I understand your concern. The problem you had can be either - Allergy to Bactrim.. but here the reaction & itching would be generalized. so no possibility of allergy. - Bactrim an antibiotic kills normal protective vaginal bacteria .. so other harmful bacteria can flourish to cause infection of vagina. You seem to have a fungal infection following Bactrim.. which has caused itching with brown discharge ( due to itching/ infection ). You should go to your gynecologist for internal check up.He will prescribe for antibiotic, fluconazole pills orally/ vaginal pessaries/ ointment for local application. This will help you. Thanks.
