What Causes Dark Brown Marks When Wiping During Pregnancy?

Hi there, My name is Barbara I m 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant and I m 40 years old. Yesterday I found a bit of blood when I urinated, light pink, only visible when I wiped myself. It hasn t happened again; however this morning, when I wiped myself I found that the paper had dark brown marks, it happened 4-5 times. I m not in pain or anything else. Am I miscarrying? Thank you for your help! Barbara

Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion spotting during pregnancy might need to be evaluated for any thyroid abnormalities,or any cervical bleeding or any low lying placenta.I suggest you to get an ultrasound done to rule the status of pregnancy.Dont worry.Take rest.Avoid physical stress and intercourse. But better to confirm in ultrasound.Dont worry.
Best regards...dr.srilatha
