I have been taking duramine for 2 weeks now and my period was due this week but only had dark brown discharge which normally comes before my period...but that continued for 3 days with no bleeding..I have taken a pregnancy test and it was negative..should I continue taking my birth control pill or wait until my period comes?
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood the concern. In the current scenario, you seem to be experiencing improper endometrial preparation leading to the brown discharge due to breakthrough bleeding. You should get a sonogram of the pelvis, preferably through the trans-vaginal route to note the endometrial thickness to plan further management. Incidentally, this also helps to exclude pregnancy and other pelvic causes. Do not start the oral contraceptive until the cause of this menstrual disturbance is detected and treated. Hope this helps.
