What Causes Dark Clots In Pregnancy?

Hi Doctor,

My wife is pregnant with 24 weeks and had bleeding with dark clots. Doctor checked and found baby is ok, advised complete bed rest with some medicines. Wife was admitted for a day and was given some saline along with medicine. Also, advised for a injection for 5 days. now after 10 days of treatment wife complaint about the clots specially after using washroom.

hi. your wife is at a risk of threatened abortion. she must be on complete bed rest , no intercourse no lifting heavy weight and she has to start taking inj proluton depot 500 mg weekly and tab duphaston 10 mg twice a day. this will provide additional support to the pregnancy.in case she has any pain in the lower abdomen she will also need tab duva 10 mg twice a day.also you will need a repeat scan after 4 weeks to see for placental position to rule out placenta prévia.at the same time she should keep a watch on the fetal movements min 12 a day . take care and all the best .
