What Causes Dark Colored Lips?

Hi. So I have a problem with losing my lip color and then I have to move my mouth around or bite my lips to make the color come back but it isn t for long until I have to do it again. The color (when I lose it) is almost my skin color and my lips are no where near pink. What s wrong?

Hello,
Thanks for the query.
Dark lips are inherent and difficult to treat.
There are various modalities but the result is not that great.
However you can give a trial.
Use a mild depigmenting agent like melaglow in night.
In morning you can apply a mild steroid like mometasone cream.
Later in the day use lip balms, containing sunscreen.
Peels are also a good option. You can go for milder peels like lactic acid, once a month.
Also take an antioxidant capsule daily.Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you
