Hi there,
I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.
1. First of all do not panic.
2. With the history of unprotected sex act and irregular cycles, I will suggest you to repeat the urine
pregnancy test after 15 to 20 days past your episode of sex act.
Please get morning's first sample of urine tested for pregnancy. In case of doubt blood
beta HCG test and USG will be of help.
3. In case of negative pregnancy test, please get a gynec check up including per speculum and per vaginal examination done to rule out
cervical polyp or erosion. This can cause post coital bleeding.
Your treating doctor can help you with prescription for a course of broad spectrum antibiotics like Doxycycline.
4. USG will help to know or rule out PCOS as a cause for irregular cycles.
5. I will suggest you to get proper sex
counselling done. Use of suitable
contraceptive method like birth control pills regularly, will be of help to prevent unwanted pregnancy and to regularise the cycles.
I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.
Dr. Purushottam Neurgaonkar.
