What Causes Dark Menstrual Bleeding?
Good evening. I have been having black menstrual cycle blood for that past 3 days. It is time for my cycle and I am having the same symptoms that I typically would (headaches, back pain, tenderness in my breasts) but I am not having my typical period type blood. I am 45 years young and need to know if this is something that I should be majorly concerned about. Thank you.

Hello user,nothing to worry.it is a variation of normal menstural pattern.brown or black coloured blood are old blood retained inside,which is shedded mixed with endometrial tissue.thanks.
