What Causes Dark Nipples And Frequent Urination After Taking Depo Shot?
I am on depo birth control shot, after a month and a half of my first shot my boyfriend and I had sex on October 23 2012, unprotected. Now my nipples have darkened, I pee more frequently, I'm always tired, I have back pains, and I'm a day or two late for my period. Do you think I am pregnant?
The Depo birth control shot, which contains medroxyprogesterone, is having 99% protection rate according to manufacturers. As you started the Depo 11/2 month before unprotected intercourse, the possibility of pregnancy is less, though cannot be completely excluded.
Darkening of the nipples, backache, tiredness, frequency of micturition, etc. can be seen in premenstrual phase also due to the effect of fluctuation of reproductive hormones. You can go for a urine pregnancy test once to rule out the possibility. If the test gives a negative result, you can wait for a few more days and possibly you may get periods by that time.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
