Asymptomatic dark colored patches over leg which initially are red colored and progressively turns brown are most likly to be papular purpuric dermatosis(PPD). These patches mostly occurs below knee and more numerous near ankle There is not any treatment for these patches and it resolves spontaneously within few years without treatment. Just need to apply moisturizing lotion three times a day. PPD usually develope as a result of leakage of blood from capillaries. PPD may occurs in normal individuals but some diseases predispose the condition like diabetes, hypertension, coagulopathy.
