What Causes Dark Red Rashes On The Legs And Ankles?

I have a dark red rash around both legs just above the ankles. It doesn t go all the way around and is darkest on the inside of my legs. Same detergent and socks for years. Not taking any inseds. i AM diabetic with my sugars running a little high in the mornings and a heart patient

Hi.
As per your case history you are having pigmented purpuric dermatosis.
My treatment advice is -
1. Avoid standing for long periods of time and keep pillows below legs while sleeping.
2. Apply a calcium dobisilate cream like Osil cream twice a day on affected region.
3. Take a vitamin c supplement once daily for 3 months.
4. Other treatment options are oral calcium dobisilate, multivitamins taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
